Do we process sensitive personal information? Email content you write may include personal or sensitive information (for example, employment history or personal circumstances). We only process this because you choose to include it in a draft, and we do not use it to profile you.
Do we collect information from third parties? No — we do not collect information about you from third parties.
How do we process your information? We process your information to generate AI email drafts, send and schedule emails on your behalf, enforce sending limits, and keep the Services secure. See Section 2.
Who do we share your information with? We share information with the service providers that power Nudge — Google (Gemini API), Brevo, SMTP2GO, and Supabase. See Section 4. We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.
How do we keep your information safe? We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, though no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. See Section 8.
What are your rights? Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. See Section 10.
How do you exercise your rights? The easiest way is to email us at nudge.emailassistant@gmail.com.
1. What information do we collect?
Personal information you disclose to us
In short: we collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us.
We collect personal information that you provide when you register for Nudge, generate or send email drafts, or otherwise contact us. The personal information we collect may include:
- Email address (via Google sign-in)
- Name (via Google sign-in)
- Email drafts you create, including recipient addresses, subject lines, and body content
- Job-related details you choose to include in a draft description (e.g. job titles, company names)
All personal information you provide to us must be true, complete, and accurate.
Information automatically collected
In short: some information — such as your IP address and browser characteristics — is collected automatically when you use our Services.
We automatically collect certain technical information when you use the Services, including your IP address, browser type, device information, operating system, and general usage data (such as timestamps of actions you take). This is used to maintain security, diagnose issues, and understand how the Services are used.
Google API
Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
2. How do we process your information?
In short: we process your information to provide and improve the Services, communicate with you, prevent abuse, and comply with the law.
We process your personal information for the following purposes:
- To create and manage your account. So you can sign in and use Nudge.
- To generate AI email drafts. Your description, tone selection, and category are sent to our AI provider to produce a draft.
- To send and schedule emails on your behalf, as directed by you.
- To enforce sending limits and protect the Services from abuse or spam-pattern misuse.
- To maintain security and troubleshoot issues.
- To save or protect vital interests, such as preventing harm, where necessary.
3. What legal bases do we rely on?
In short: we only process your personal information when we have a valid legal reason to do so — such as your consent, to fulfil our contractual obligations to you, or our legitimate business interests.
If you are in the EU or UK: we rely on consent (which you may withdraw at any time), performance of a contract (providing the Services you asked for), and legal obligations where applicable.
If you are in Canada: we rely on your express or implied consent, which you may withdraw at any time, except where the law permits processing without consent (e.g. fraud prevention, legal proceedings).
4. When and with whom do we share your personal information?
In short: we share information with the specific service providers that power Nudge's core functionality, and in limited business situations described below.
To operate the Services, your information is processed by the following service providers, each under their own applicable terms:
- Google (Gemini API) — processes your draft description to generate AI email content
- Brevo — sends your emails on your behalf
- SMTP2GO — a backup email delivery provider used if Brevo is unavailable
- Supabase — stores your account and email data, and provides authentication via Google sign-in
We may also share information in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of company assets, should one occur. We do not sell or share your personal information with advertisers, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.
5. Do we offer artificial intelligence-based products?
In short: yes — Nudge uses AI to generate email drafts.
Nudge uses AI (the Google Gemini API) to generate email draft content based on the description, tone, and category you provide. Your input and the resulting draft are processed by Google as our AI service provider. You must review AI-generated drafts before sending — Nudge does not guarantee the factual accuracy of AI-generated content.
To opt out of a specific use of your data by our AI provider, contact us at nudge.emailassistant@gmail.com.
6. How do we handle your social logins?
In short: if you register using Google sign-in, we receive certain profile information from Google.
Nudge lets you register and sign in using your Google account. When you do this, we receive basic profile information from Google — typically your name and email address. We only use this information for the purposes described in this Privacy Notice. We recommend reviewing Google's own privacy policy to understand how they handle your data.
7. How long do we keep your information?
In short: we keep your information for as long as your account is active, unless a longer period is required by law.
We retain your drafts, sent-email history, and account information for as long as you have an active account with Nudge, so that you can view your sending history. When you request account deletion, we deactivate and delete your data from our active systems, except where retention is needed to prevent fraud or comply with legal obligations.
8. How do we keep your information safe?
In short: we use reasonable technical and organizational security measures to protect your information.
We use industry-standard practices — including encrypted connections and access controls — to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Do we collect information from minors?
In short: no — Nudge is not directed at, and should not be used by, anyone under 18.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 years of age. By using Nudge, you confirm that you are at least 18. If we learn that we've collected information from someone under 18, we will delete it and deactivate the associated account. If you believe this has happened, contact us at nudge.emailassistant@gmail.com.
10. What are your privacy rights?
In short: depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or limit the use of your personal information.
If you are in the EEA, UK, Switzerland, or Canada, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, restrict or object to certain processing, and receive a copy of your data. You can exercise any of these rights by emailing nudge.emailassistant@gmail.com.
Account information: you can review, update, or delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon a deletion request, we deactivate and delete your data from active systems, retaining only what's needed for fraud prevention or legal compliance.
If you are in the EEA or UK and believe we are processing your data unlawfully, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
11. Controls for Do-Not-Track features
Most browsers include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature. Because no uniform standard for recognizing DNT signals currently exists, we do not respond to them at this time.
12. Do United States residents have specific privacy rights?
In short: if you're a resident of a US state with a comprehensive privacy law (e.g. California, Colorado, Virginia, and others), you have rights to know, access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing.
We have not sold or shared personal information with third parties for advertising purposes in the past twelve months, and we do not intend to. To exercise your rights, email us at nudge.emailassistant@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request. If we decline a request, you may appeal by emailing us, and if your appeal is denied, you may contact your state attorney general.
13. Do we make updates to this notice?
In short: yes, we will update this notice as necessary to stay accurate and compliant.
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
14. How can you contact us about this notice?
If you have questions or comments about this notice, email us at nudge.emailassistant@gmail.com.
Nudge is operated as an individual project, based in Nigeria.
15. How can you review, update, or delete the data we collect from you?
You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time. To make a request, email nudge.emailassistant@gmail.com.
